During one summer the author read the Old Testament in order from Genesis to Malachi. He read one book per day in order to get a general impression from each book in one sitting. The sole focus for each reading was this: "What does this book reveal to me about our heavenly Father?" Once finished, the author found that he was naturally pulled to continue reading in the New Testament. Thus, these devotions include the four Gospels and the book of Hebrews in the New Testament. For a summary of the Old Testament and of God's working therein and for a quick glimpse at the character of our Father God, you won't find a more concise version than this.
All 47 devotions will be emailed as a Word document for $12.00.

"Now there are probably some good reasons for people failing to keep their lesser promises. A friend has forgotten to meet us at agreed upon times and places. Traffic, illness, and the weather have prevented events and circumstances from 'being so.' And we are all too familiar with some bad reasons for people bailing out on their word: revenge, pride, protectiveness, and comfort. But Joshua 1--24 is shouting to me that our Father is different. He does what He says He will do. Period. Count on it."
"Our Father has sent us a kinsman-redeemer to protect and provide for us. As Ruth 1:6 says, 'He (comes) to the aid of his people.' He is our faithful and true friend. He has left His comfortable home of heaven, has descended to this foreign and strange land, and has pledged to remain with us until the end of the age. (Mt. 28:20)"
"When read together, the 150 Psalms have a clear message: because of His unfailing love, our Father is a refuge, deliverer, and savior for the poor and needy."
"I know that many people think that the Old Testament shows one side of God, His stern and law-oriented side, while the New Testament shows His softer side, His Gospel side. After reading Deuteronomy and looking for characteristics of our Father in it though, I see His good gifts all over the place. And Moses is very intentional about reminding the Israelites of this very fact."
